I
have been surfing the web for the best part of 10 years. During
that time I have come across some excellent sites and some terrible
sites (both in design and content).
I
have used the “net” as a means to do research, as tool at work and as a
means of entertainment.
As a
father of two young children I now use the internet to educate myself on
child development, childhood illnesses, games and activities, learning
material etc.
However, the one disadvantage with the internet is the sheer volume of
information available. Even when you refine a search, you still
have to wade through thousands of pages of information, much of which
are totally irrelevant to your search.
The
idea behind the site was that if I find something important or of
interest, then why not let other people know about it.
I
have divided the site into areas of interest, and where possible, I have
given a description of the link to help you decide if the information
contained is of relevance to you or not. I have also included
links to commercial sites that I believe offer service and value and
that I myself use.
I
will not use banner or pop-up ads, and I'll try to give a brief
description on each site so that you get an idea of the site's content.
I would appreciate your feedback on any broken or removed links.
The site is divided into main
subject titles with related sub-sections. As this is a work in
progress I would appreciate your comments and feedback.
